Three artists working in the fields of ambient, drone, and experimental composition, each in their own ways inviting patient, open listening. Lope
/ˈloʊp/.
Verb.
Lopes; loped; loping: to run in a relaxed way with long strides.
Amias Hanley is an artist working at the intersection of
sound, technology, and ecology. Their live performances use
electromagnetics, found objects, and field recordings to explore
listening and attend to the material conditions through which sound
emerges. Elsewhere, their auditory-led research extends through
multichannel works, installation, and sound sculpture.
Iván Muela
is a composer and sound artist based in London. His work often blends
traditional instrumentation with electronic live processing, creating
soundscapes that resemble ever-evolving sonic paintings. He has been
releasing music under his name for the last 10 years in the ambient,
experimental and neo-classical scene. He has performed his music
extensively in a variety of settings around Europe, ranging from
intimate piano concerts, to drone festivals or performances with
classical ensembles.
Henry Prince is a composer and improviser from Nice and
based in London. He composes for solo and guitar ensembles using ebows,
as well as brass and wind players, occasionally using live sound
processing and playing with pure / impure harmony. Recently, Henry has mixed experimental, classical and minimalist music, releasing "Masses
of swirling thought disappear." composed for saxophone and trombone
quartet and electric guitar quartet. He is currently composing for
ensembles of acoustic guitars with ebows, playing with the power of
extreme quiet and stillness in performance contexts. He released
"Against The Earth" in 2025 featuring two
pieces for 12 acoustic guitars and ebows.
